Which pga pros use the nike sasquatch sumo on tour?
im talking about the sumo, not the regular sasquatch or the sasquatch squared.
some people say that its not allowed on tour and high school golf teams cant use it either. is that true?
The touring pros will tinker week-to-week and round-to-round so the answer varies. However, according to the Nike Golf web site, five guys on the payroll have the SasQuatch SUMO in their bags. They are Stephen Ames, Paul Azinger, Lucas Glover, Justin Leonard and Rory Sabbatini. Michelle Wie also uses it but she isn't a member of any tour. K.J. Choi wields the SUMO².
But again, these golfers might yank it for whatever reason. And no one knows until after an event if a non-Nike pro gives one a whirl. You can always write to the Darrell Survey Company at corpsales@darrellsurvey.com. That company is the leading resource for the information you are seeking.
ADDED 10/12, 11:35am CT ... (Until right now, I didn't see your question asking if the club was banned for high school events.) It's possible that high school associations (HSA) banned the club since Nike had a recall/replacement program on it earlier in the year. But there isn't one grand answer as rules and regs for HSAs vary by state. (Other manufacturers recalled drivers, too, so I'd imagine that the Nike stick wasn't the only one considered illegal at HSA events.) The simple answer is to just check with your coach or state HSA.
