Better golf with closed or square clubface?
Hey =) Hence the question, do you think i rather change my swing/ grip to neutral in order to make the clubface square on top for much more consistent shots or just stayed with my old way with extremely closed clubface. My coach introduced me a new swing/grip and i tried it (neutral grip and square clubface) and i cant swing to my bestest. I've been swinging with closed clubface and it is much more comfortable to muscle the ball. Plus i can hit far and fairly easy with the old swing and my driver could go 265-285 yards. My go to shot would be a draw but we all know that closed clubface can result with severe pulls, duckhooks or terribly low trajectory low if i mess up with my body rotation. Sometimes it does get me really bad in some rounds, pulling all the shots from wedges to driver. So, change swing to get the clubface square or same old swing,practice controlling my release and body rotation tempo? Its for the cause for my future =) so i thank y'all for honest opinions. . A swing change (major issue) is going to take a period of adjustment to feel right and gain confidence in. Plus if it were a minor issue then simple adjustments could have been made to correct flaws. Your coach seems to want you to have long range gains and is looking out for you best interest in the future instead of just quick fixing something to get you by. A shut club at the top of swing will get your ball in a lot of trouble so make the effort to correct problem while you have a coach to work it out.
