Golf Swing Basics - One Plane Golf Swing

The concept of a one plane golf swing has been around for a few years, and gained popularity with golfers that were looking to develop a more consistent golf swing. Imagine a hula hoop around your body and flat against the shaft of your golf club at address, this is how most people desribe the one plane golf swing.  The hula hoot resting at an angle across your body demonstrates the angle of the plane that your golf swing needs to address.

A bad golf swing that is off plane will create bad golf shots, that much is known. The problem with an off-plane golf swing is that it is twice as hard to get the club back on the proper swing plane.  When you look at amateur golfers, and the types of problems they normally experience - over the top, chicken wings, reverse pivots, casting etc. – are problems created by an off-plane golf swing.
