Can a beginning guy golfer practice basic swing technique with lady's clubs?
I have access to a set of lady's golf clubs, but I'm a guy - if I practice swinging them at a driving range, will I mess up my technique from the beginning? What's the difference between men's and women's golf clubs anyway? I just want to practice the basics of golf before I decide this is the right sport for me. If so, I'll buy a set of men's clubs...
I would recommend against that. Because the clubs will be too short, you will likely devloep some bad habit early on and those are going to be hard to correct. You would be better off buying a used set of clubs on Ebay or getting them through golfclubexchange.com. You should be able to find a reasonably priced set on Ebay. Look for used clubs (new clubs aren't usually much of a discount.)
Another way to decide if the game is for you is to go to the driving range and borrow clubs there. If you enjoy that , many golf courses will also let you rent clubs for the day. Obviously, you should call ahead to confirm that fact. (They usually aren't great clubs, but they are men's clubs.) If you decide you like the game, you might find it worth it to buy a used set.
